On an online forum on Wednesday, Commissioner Mairead McGuinness moved to unify policies on Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA). McGuinness said the commission also hopes to finalize its proposed regulatory sandbox on financial products based on distributed ledger technology (DLT). The goal is to reach a solid set of regulations by the end of the year.

“Crypto assets are evolving fast, enabling homegrown firms to enter the market, while also attracting retail investors,” McGuinness said. ”It is our policy and our duty as policymakers to put sound rules in place as quickly as possible.”
