In Buterin’s Opinion, the Merger Is Unlikely To Affect Ethereum Adversely, As Most of the Community Supports It

The Ethereum merger will not adversely affect the minting of new tokens on ETC, Vitalik Buterin said in a webinar on Saturday. In addition, he does not expect any adverse impact on the blockchain, as most of the Ethereum community supports the merger.

Concerns exist that miners could swarm to ETC and disrupt the merger. Ideally, users shouldn't notice any difference, says developer Tim Beiko. Buterin added that ETC has a strong community and product to provide PoW. In addition, the ETC community strongly advocates PoW values. Even so, there may be a split in the market.
